The fifth-generation Odyssey's interior space is about 10cm higher than its predecessor's. The latest version is also equipped with improved safety functions. Lights in the side mirrors notify the driver if there are other vehicles in his or her blind spot when the car is travelling at speeds of 30kmh or faster. The navigation display will also inform the driver when starting the car if vehicles are approaching from the rear. These safety functions are not available with all models.
Honda will release the new Odyssey on Nov. 1 and aims to sell 4,000 units each month. Retail prices for the regular model will start at 2.49 million yen, while the sports model will sell for 2.95 million yen or higher.
