Lexus Tops Auto Quality Survey In China
BEIJING (Nikkei)--The Lexus luxury nameplate of Toyota Motor Corp. (7203) led the pack in J.D. Power Asia Pacific's 2013 automobile quality study for the Chinese market, released Thursday.
The survey ranked brands by the number of problems per 100 new vehicles, or PP100, sold in China. Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd.'s (7270) Subaru brand came in third.
A growing number of Chinese consumers place an emphasis on quality, and the effects of the Senkaku Islands dispute with Japan appear to be fading. Together, these factors will likely aid a resurgence in Chinese sales of Japanese vehicles.
