Nikkei Loses Steam On Pause In Dlr's Rise
TOKYO (NQN)--Tokyo stocks lost a bit of their upward momentum immediately after the Wednesday afternoon session kicked off, with the Nikkei Stock Average rising about 150 points to move around the upper-14,400 line.
The dollar's slight fall to the lower-98 yen range prompted investors to sell exporters and other issues, which had risen in the morning session, to lock in gains.
The Shanghai Composite Index and all other major stock indexes in Asian markets are rising. An official at a domestic brokerage said that the Nikkei average is expected to continue moving firmly in the afternoon.
