Nikkei Ends Morning Higher On Rise In U.S Stocks, Dlr
TOKYO (NQN)--Tokyo stocks ended the morning session higher Monday, with the Nikkei Stock Average climbing 151.51 points, or 1.08%, to 14,239.70.
Friday's rise on Wall Street and the dollar's rise against the yen prompted investors to buy shares in electronic companies, automakers and other exporters in Tokyo. Some investors said market conditions were favorable for buying back shares, because the Nikkei average fell about 400 points on Friday. However, the topside of the benchmark index was limited after buying ran its course, as retail and other investors locked in gains.
