Nikkei Opens Higher After Dow Hits 1-Month High
TOKYO (NQN)--Tokyo stocks opened higher Monday, with the Nikkei Stock Average jumping 173.46 points to begin the day at 14,261.65.
The Dow Jones industrial average rose to its highest point in about a month on Friday, improving investor sentiment. Investors are buying back blue chips after the Nikkei average dropped nearly 400 points Friday. Also pushing up stocks is the dollar's rise to the mid-97 yen level.
