Nikkei Opens Lower On Dow's Fall
TOKYO (NQN)--Tokyo stocks opened lower Tuesday, with the Nikkei Stock Average sliding 16 points to begin the day at 14,677.
The decline appears limited after the Dow Jones industrial average closed only slightly lower overnight. Investors are selling stocks -- particularly marine shippers, precision equipment makers and drugmakers -- to lock in recent gains as the benchmark average has been rising fairly quickly recently.
