Kagome Targeting 8% Of Total Sales In Asia: President

BANGKOK (Nikkei)--Kagome Co. (2811) intends to boost its proportion of sales in Asia to around 8% of its total in three years, up from 1% at present, President Hidenori Nishi told The Nikkei on Wednesday.
The food maker has already put its tomato-based health drinks on the market in Thailand, and plans to bring them to other Southeast Asian countries as well as India and China.
"Tomato consumption is still low, and there's a variety of possibilities for product sales and processing facilities," Nishi said.
He expects consumption of tomato products in the region to increase in proportion to economic growth.
