Nikkei Opens Tad Lower On Wall St Losses, Yen's Rise
TOKYO (NQN)--Tokyo stocks opened slightly lower Thursday, with the Nikkei Stock Average sliding 30 points to begin the day at 14,140 before hovering around the mid-14,100 level.
An overnight drop in the Dow Jones industrial average and the dollar's fall against the yen are prompting selling of blue-chip exporters. Meanwhile, investors are buying stocks on dips in response to Wednesday's plunge in the Nikkei average.
