Sale Tax Hike Has Lowest Risk If Done As Planned: Govt Council
TOKYO (NQN)--The government pointed out Tuesday that raising the consumption tax as planned carries fewer fiscal risks than not raising the tax rate.
The government noted this at the Council on Economic and Fiscal Policy, based on the gathering of opinions about economic conditions related to the consumption tax hike. This view is regarded as a factor for Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to decide whether to raise the consumption tax as planned.
Abe is to announce his decision on the tax rate this evening.
