DJ: August Auto Exports Rise 2.1% On Year, 1st Rise In 13 Months
TOKYO--Japan's exports of cars, trucks and buses rose 2.1% on year in August, increasing for the first time in 13 months, as shipments to major European markets turned higher along with steady growth in exports to North America and other markets.
Exports totaled 351,217 vehicles in August, up from 344,049 vehicles in the same month a year earlier, the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association said Monday.
Exports to the countries of the European Union rose for the first time in 15 months, according to JAMA.
