DJ: Auto Production Declines 7.6% On Year In August
TOKYO--Production of cars, trucks and buses in Japan declined 7.6% on year in August, falling for the 12th consecutive month, as the expiry of the government's car purchasing incentives last year kept domestic demand sluggish.
Vehicle output fell to 680,487 vehicles in August from 736,419 vehicles in the same month a year earlier, the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association said Monday.
Domestic vehicle demand totaled 366,754, down 1.1%.
