LDP To Discuss Corporate Reconstruction Tax Further
TOKYO (NQN)--The ruling Liberal Democratic Party and its coalition partner New Komeito met Friday morning to discuss tax system, including the idea of ending the special corporate tax for earthquake reconstruction ahead of schedule.
After the meeting, Takeshi Noda, chairman of the LDP's tax panel, told reporters that the ruling party intends to further discuss the issue of ending the reconstruction tax ahead of schedule. He said the LDP will hold discussions on Sunday to organize the party's position on the issue ahead of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's announcement on Oct. 1 of economic measures to be implemented along with the consumption tax hike.
