JPX To Change Name Of OSE to Osaka Exchange
TOKYO (NQN)--Japan Exchange Group Inc. (8697) said Tuesday it will change the name of its Osaka Securities Exchange Co. unit to Osaka Exchange Inc.
The change is in line with plans to consolidate derivatives markets at the Osaka-based exchange in March 2014. Although the date for the name change is not yet fixed, it is likely that it will take effect on the same day the derivatives markets are integrated.
The OSE, whose cash-stock market was integrated into the Tokyo Stock Exchange on July 16, will hold an extraordinary shareholders meeting on Nov. 28 because the name change requires their approval.
Japan Exchange Group will also change the name of another subsidiary, Tokyo Stock Exchange Regulation, to Japan Exchange Regulation as of April 1 next year.
