Xbox One's Japanese Release Set For '14
TOKYO (Nikkei)--Microsoft Corp. said Tuesday that the Xbox One, its latest offering in the Xbox family of game consoles, will become available in Japan next year. No specific date or price has been determined.
The Xbox One is scheduled to hit the U.S. and European markets in November. Microsoft cites the time needed to localize software and voice recognition functions for the delayed release in Japan.
In addition to improved image-processing functions and operability, the Xbox One enhances the user's enjoyment of videos, music and Internet sites, according to the company. It also works well with smartphones and tablet computers. Microsoft plans to develop and release 12 software titles in Japan next year.
