U.S. Hails Japan's Landfill Step For Futenma Base Relocation

WASHINGTON (Kyodo)--The United States on Friday welcomed Japanese government's formal request to local authorities for approval to reclaim land for a Marine base relocation as "a key milestone" after years of tough negotiations work between the two countries.
