Japan Logs 8th Straight Trade Deficit In Feb

TOKYO (NQN)--Japan posted a trade deficit of 777.5 billion yen on a customs-cleared basis in February, marking the eighth straight month in the red, according to preliminary data released Thursday by the Finance Ministry.

Imports increased 11.9% on the year to 6.06 trillion yen, with those of liquefied natural gas significantly pushing up the overall figure. Exports shrank 2.9% to 5.28 trillion yen.
