Tepco To Appoint 1st Female Corporate Officer

TOKYO (Nikkei)--Tokyo Electric Power Co. (9501) will install its first female corporate officer on April 1, a part of the utility's shift toward an in-house company system.

Rieko Sato, 48, is currently in charge of damages compensation for victims of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster.

Her promotion to corporate officer will come with a new role as second-in-command of a new in-house retail company to be established in April.
