Showa Shell, TonenGeneral To Expand Tie-Up

TOKYO (Nikkei)--Showa Shell Sekiyu KK (5002) and TonenGeneral Sekiyu KK (5012) said Monday that they will deepen their partnership, possibly consolidating some of their combined total of 14 oil terminals.

The firms will consider boosting mutual supplies of raw materials and oil products, as well as launching joint operation of tankers and oil storage facilities.

Currently, the duo ships raw materials between their refineries in Kawasaki and reciprocally supplies products from their refineries and oil depots. They hope to cut costs by joining hands to improve efficiency in such areas as transport.
