Saudi Arabia Holds Job Fair In Tokyo For Its Students In Japan

TOKYO (Nikkei)--The Saudi Arabian government hosted a job fair here Tuesday for Saudi students studying in Japan.

The inaugural event featured roughly 30 companies, including Toyota Motor Corp. (7203) and Marubeni Corp. (8002). It was attended by 100 students graduating this spring.

One participant hoped to gain experience in Japan before working for a Japanese company in Saudi Arabia. Another expressed interest in continuing to work in Japan, pointing to the lack of jobs for younger people back home.

Some 150,000 Saudi students study abroad, with 500 in Japan. The Saudi government has held similar overseas job fairs in the U.S., the U.K. and Canada.
