Japan-China Trade Falls 8% In Jan-Feb: China Customs

BEIJING (Nikkei)--The value of trade between Japan and China in January and February fell 8.2% on the year, compared with a 14% increase in China's overall trade, according to data released Friday by Chinese customs authorities.

Japan-China trade rose for the first time in eight months in January, but in February, China's imports from Japan slid 36% and its exports to Japan slipped 6.5%.

In 2012, bilateral trade fell for the first time in three years. The decline is attributed to fallout from the Senkaku Islands dispute.
