Tokyo Office Vacancies Up 0.01 Point On Month In Feb
TOKYO (NQN)--The office vacancy rate in Tokyo's five central wards edged up for the first time in three months in February, real estate broker Miki Shoji Co. said Thursday.
The vacancy rate in Chiyoda, Chuo, Minato, Shinjuku and Shibuya wards rose 0.01 percentage point on the month to 8.57% at the end of last month. Some tenants cancelled their leases as they consolidated offices, or when landlords decided to renovate their buildings. But two new high-rise buildings opened almost fully occupied last month, preventing the vacancy rate from slipping further.
The Waterras Tower in Chiyoda Ward and the Ginza Kabukiza in Chuo Ward opened last month and were nearly full.
