Corp Business Sentiment Rises To Highest Since Oct '07

TOKYO (NQN)--Corporate business sentiment improved for the third straight month in February, with the diffusion index rising 1.8 points from January to 39.8, its highest point since October 2007, when the index rose to 40.6, Teikoku Databank Ltd. reported Tuesday.

Expectations for monetary easing measures and a big supplementary budget from the government supported sentiment in a range of industries, amid the decline of the yen and stock market gains.

Nine out of 10 industries improved, including the manufacturing, retail and service sectors. The diffusion index of real estate rose 4.8 points to 45.7, marking the biggest gains since the survey began in May 2002.
