Nikkei Opens At '12-'13 High On Wall St Gains, Yen's Decline

TOKYO (NQN)--Tokyo stocks opened higher Monday, with the Nikkei Stock Average starting the day at 11,695.45, topping the 2012-'13 high logged on Feb. 25.

The Dow Jones industrial average rose to its highest point in about five years and five months, pushing the yen down. The improved market conditions are prompting investors to take more risks, causing blue chips in particular to open higher.
