Nikkei Opens Lower On Profit-Taking

TOKYO (NQN)--Tokyo stocks opened lower Friday, following gains Thursday, with the Nikkei Stock Average sliding 94 points, or 0.8%, to start the day at 11,464.

Investors started selling shares to lock in gains. Risk-averse investors also began adjusting their positions ahead of the Friday deadline for mandatory spending cuts in the U.S.
