Nikkei Tops 11,400 On Wall St Gains

TOKYO (NQN)--Tokyo stocks opened higher Thursday, with the Nikkei Stock Average jumping 142 points, or 1.27%, to start the day at 11,396 before topping 11,400.

Wall Street closed higher overnight, in line with expectations that the U.S. will continue to roll out monetary easing measures.

Italy's successful bond auction overnight also supported investor sentiment in Tokyo, with Toyota Motor Corp. (7203) and other exporters advancing significantly.
