Nikkei Opens Higher On Wall St Gains

TOKYO (NQN)--Tokyo stocks opened slightly higher Wednesday, with the Nikkei Stock Average climbing 20 points to begin the day at 11,418 before moving at the lower-11,400 level.

The Dow Jones industrial average closed higher overnight in response to an improvement in housing data, supporting the Tokyo market. The euro's rise against the yen is also prompting investors to buy stocks, with Toyota Motor Corp. (7203), Komatsu Ltd. (6301) and Mizuho Financial Group Inc. (8411) opening higher.
