Suzuki Unveils Fuel-Efficient Spacia Miniwagon

TOKYO (Nikkei)--Suzuki Motor Corp. (7269) said Tuesday it will begin selling its new Spacia minicar on March 15, which will be a successor to its Palette micro minivan.

Suzuki will begin selling its new Spacia minicar on March 15.

The new car, which gets mileage of 29km/l, will retail for 1.22-1.53 million yen.

"Spacia is a significant improvement on the Palette, which gets mileage of 22-23km/l, and is as good as WagonR," said Osamu Suzuki, the chairman and president of the carmaker.

Suzuki has set a monthly sales target of 7,000 units for the car, aiming to compete against Daihatsu Motor Co.'s (7262) Tanto and Honda Motor Co.'s (7267) N Box.
