Nikkei Widens Losses On Pause In Yen-Selling
TOKYO (NQN)--Tokyo stocks widened their losses at the opening of the afternoon session Tuesday, with the Nikkei Stock Average sliding about 230 points to the lower-11,400 level.
The dollar weakened to the lower-92 yen level and the euro slid to the lower-120 yen line, prompting investors to sell exporters.
The broader Topix index also fell faster after losing nearly 1% in the morning. Speculation is easing that the Bank of Japan will buy index-linked exchange-traded funds.
