Nikkei Ends Morning Lower On Italy Jitters
TOKYO (NQN)--Tokyo stocks fell Tuesday morning, with the Nikkei Stock Average sliding 160.22 points, or 1.37%, to end the session at 11,502.30.
Risk-averse investors sold stocks in the U.S. overnight in line with uncertainty over political developments in Italy following the country's general election, causing Wall Street to close lower. As a result, the yen strengthened, spurring selling of exporters.
