Corp Service Price Index Hits Record Low In Jan

TOKYO (NQN)--Japan's corporate services price index for January fell 0.2% on the year to 95.4 (2005=100), marking the eighth straight monthly slide and hitting a record low, the Bank of Japan reported Monday.

The index's fall was affected by declines seen in telecommunications, real estate and advertising industries.

On a month-on-month basis, the index fell 0.4%, making for the first drop in three months.

The index measures the overall level of prices that companies pay for services.
