S Korea Protests Japan's Islets Event, Summons Embassy Official

SEOUL (Kyodo)--South Korea "strongly protests" Japan's sending a senior government official to an event to promote its claim to a pair of South Korea-controlled islets, the foreign ministry said in a statement Friday.
