Nikkei Opens Lower On Profit-Taking

TOKYO (NQN)--Tokyo stocks opened lower Tuesday, following a sharp rise the previous day, with the Nikkei Stock Average slipping 71 points to begin the day in the mid-11,300s.

With the benchmark index approaching its 2012-'13 high of 11,463 Monday, investors are selling stocks to lock in recent gains. The dollar's decline to the upper-93 yen range is also prompting selling.
