Nikkei Opens Lower On Overseas Losses
TOKYO (NQN)--Tokyo stocks opened lower Friday, with the Nikkei Stock Average sliding 68 points to start the day at 11,239.
Markets in Europe and the U.S. closed lower overnight, in line with concerns about the European economy. The yen has been rising since 5 p.m. Thursday, ahead of the start of today's meeting of financial ministers and central bankers from the Group of 20 nations. This is limiting upward momentum for the benchmark index.
