News by E-mail

News by E-mail will forward headlines on news categories of interest to your e-mail inbox. You will be able to scan through headlines in categories such as finance, industry, economy and politics for a quick roundup of the news from Japan. NIKKEI.com subscribers can click on links that access full articles.

Setting up a News by E-mail account:

For Visitors (subscription to NIKKEI.com is required to read the full text of the articles):

1. Access the News by E-mail registration page via Tools, then click the link.
2. Read through the Terms of Use (please see Subscription Information) and, if you agree to the terms, click Proceed.
3. Complete the contact information form and click Proceed.
4. Select the news categories that are of interest to you. Note that you will receive one e-mail per news category you select (articles from The Nikkei Weekly are e-mailed once a week on Wednesday evening or Thursday morning).
5. Check your registration details and click Submit. A confirmation e-mail will be sent to your e-mail address. You must click on the enclosed link to complete the registration. After you have clicked on the link, your account will be activated and you will begin to receive News by E-mail from NIKKEI.com.

For NIKKEI.com Subscribers

1. Access the News by E-mail via Tools and log in if necessary.
2. Select the e-mail address you wish to use. The default is your contact e-mail address for your NIKKEI.com subscription. If you wish to use a different e-mail address for News by E-mail, please enter a new one.
3. Select the e-mail format and receiving time.
4. Select the news categories that are of interest to you. Note that you will receive one e-mail per news category you select (articles from The Nikkei Weekly are e-mailed once a week).
5. Check your registration details and click Submit. A confirmation e-mail will be sent to you. You must click on the enclosed link to complete the registration. After you have clicked on the link, your account will be activated and you will begin to receive News by E-mail from NIKKEI.com.

Unsubscribe from News by E-mail

If you wish to stop receiving News by E-mail, please log in to News by E-mail, select the Unsubscribe option and follow the instructions provided.

News by E-mail Troubleshooting

If there are four unsuccessful attempts to send headlines to your account (e.g. your e-mail server was down, e-mail address was discontinued, or e-mail account was full), News by E-mail messages will stop being sent to that e-mail address.
If you wish, you can reset your account to receive headlines again. Go to the News by E-mail log-in page and click on the Reset E-mail Account link, type your e-mail address in the box and click the Reset button.

Registering via mobile phone

If you register for the short format e-mail to be sent to your mobile phone, your phone must have Internet browsing capabilities or you will be unable to click on the confirmation link to complete the registration.If you do not have Internet browsing, please contact Customer Support and we will complete the registration for you.
