OPINION: Obama's Asia strategy here for the long term
Newly re-elected U.S. President Barack Obama did not attend the September Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit meeting in the Russian city of Vladivostok, because he was too busy campaigning. But he is expected to continue his administration's strategic "pivot" toward a U.S. focus on Asia in his second term.
